4. Do we display pricing?
The manufacturer has the option to provide MAP, MSP, and MSRP prices or they can keep the information private.
5. Can PIDB pull logistical data directly from 1WorldSync or GS1?
Yes, if you are currently enrolled with a GDSN provider, we can pull that data into PIDB
6. What is Edgenet’s role in this process?
Edgenet has an established system for collecting aggregating and distributing commerce and logistics product data. Their system has a
comprehensive set of quality and completeness checks to ensure high quality, complete and consistent product records for PIDB They
also provide technical assistance for supplier data entry.
7. What if I don’t want everyone in my organization to see everything that associated with my account with PIDB?
- PIDB subscribers will have the ability to have multiple employee accounts.
- A site manager from your company will have the ability to manage accounts for your company.
- Roles can be assigned to the different users at the company enabling some activities, disabling others. For example, you might not want
everyone with a login to be able to upload data – that can be restricted.
8. Are manufacturers required to participate in PIDB?
Currently participation in PIDB is optional. However, as manufacturers join and PIDB is more widely utilized, participating distributors and
retailers will use PIDB as their exclusive source for product data.
